Exciting News!

Hey, y'all!  Ok, I've got some exciting news...I was chosen to be a new member of the Digi Doodle Shop's Best DT!  I can't even tell you how thrilled I am.

I am just so excited!!!!  Everyone on the team is so very nice; I just know we're going to have a blast.  I also can't wait to show all of you the fabulous images at Digi Doodle Shop!  Trust me...they are seriously cute.  I know not all of you were with me back in March, so I'm reposting this card I did with one of my favorite DDS images.

Sorry for the dark picture, but isn't he just the cutest little thing!?!  There's also a girl version, with a floppy sun hat and high heels.  =D

Ok, well thanks for stopping by!  Hugs!

CDAC Progressive Challenge 3 - Part 3

I told you I'd see you soon!  =D   Ok, here's my third card for the third series in the first Progressive Challenge over at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC)!  The theme is *still* autumn/fall.  When the leaves start changing and the weather starts getting chilly, I start thinking about hay rides and apple orchards.  I've never been apple picking, but it just seems like such a fun thing to do...

...which makes this fabulous image by Glitterbabe just perfect!  I was really happy with how this one turned out.  Luckily I had red ribbon that matched my cardstock.  I just love those sparkly leaves with the gemstones in the middle.  They make me smile.

Ok, that's it for tonight.  I'm hoping to get a few more cards done at some point this week, so hopefully I'll be seeing you soon.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs!

CDAC Progressive Challenge 3 - Part 2

Hey y'all!  Miss me?  =D  Well, I've just been working my butt off...haven't really had time to craft...but I made time for another card in the third series in the first Progressive Challenge over at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC)!  The theme is still Autumn/Fall.

I just loved this duck image by Nicecrane Designs.  Isn't it cool?  I think this would make a great thank you card for a guy...maybe my grandpa.

Alright, thanks for stopping by!  We'll be seeing you soon.  (Very soon, in fact...I have one more card to post tonight.  LOL)

CDAC Progressive Challenge 3

Hey guys!  It's time for the third series in the first Progressive Challenge over at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC)!  This fortnight's theme is Autumn/Fall.  It's definitely time for it!  Weather's getting chilly, leaves are falling, weather's getting chilly...wait, did I already say that? =D

For my first card, I used this lovely image from Lia Stampz.  Isn't she fun?  I used pearls for her earrings...a little big, right?  LOL I figure my grandma wears huge earrings, so that's ok.  I can't remember where the papers are from...I think they're Bo Bunny.  At least the gold leaf one is...

I'd talk more, but with my new work schedule I'm just exhausted.  That's why I haven't been around the blogs much...I miss you all!!  I promise I'll be around soon!  Hopefully within the next month or so.  Hugs!

Ok, thanks for stopping by...I hope to have some cards later this weekend so we'll see you then!

Flowers in Her Hair

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another Digistamps 4 Joy challenge.  This week is..........anything goes!! Woot woot!  Hold on, there's a twist.  You can use any image for the challenge, BUT if you use a Digistamp 4 Joy image...your entry counts TRIPLE!!  That's right, three chances to win if you use a Digistamp 4 Joy image.  Pretty cool, huh?

I used the images Flowers in Her Hair and Flower Corner.  Isn't she gorgeous!?!  She's definitely one of my favorites.  The images were colored with Copics.  You can barely see it in the picture, but the blue background paper has Chinese characters all over it.  I used a background stamp in chalk ink to create the dp.  I found the "beauty" sentiment and Chinese characters at Documents and Designs.  This is the quote that's on the inside (also from Documents and Designs):

Ok, now that you've seen my card, head on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the DT has come up with.  I hope to see y'all play along with us this week!  Remember, you don't need to use a Digistamps 4 Joy image, but if you do, your entry will be counted THREE times!  Don't have any?  You can find the **fabulous** images right here.  Have fun!

Arrrrg!

Good morning, and happy Talk Like A Pirate Day!!  Arrrrg!  =D  If you haven't heard of Talk Like a Pirate Day...I wouldn't be surprised.  It started as a joke a number of years ago, but has grown in leaps and bounds.  Plus, who doesn't love a chance to talk like a pirate?  Or perhaps wear a talking parrot?  Or a peg leg? A hook for a hand?  I know I never leave home without mine!  =D

And now for something completely different.  (Hee!)

It's time for the newest Happileigh Scrappin' challenge.  Yay!!  This time it was my turn to choose the challenge, and I chose "T" Time.  I want to see things that begin with the letter "T".  Turtles, tinsel, trees, Tatters the mouse, toys....the possibilities are endless.  Get creative, and let's see what you've got!

As you can see, I chose to use a tub with a towel for my image.  (The image is actually called Bubble Bath, and can be found here.)  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.  Aren't they a perfect match?

Well, now that you've seen my creation, hop on over to the Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge Blog to see what the other Happi Sisters have come up with.  Remember, you do not need to use a Happileigh Scrappin' image, but we would love it if you did!!  Sadly, this will be the last Happileigh Scrappin' challenge, so I hope to see you enter a project!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and we'll see you soon!!

Scrapfest 2011

Good morning everyone!  I hope y'all are having a fabulous weekend.  I know I did!  This week was the annual Scrapfest at Mall of America. Never heard of Scrapfest?  Scrappers take over the Mall for the whole weekend, from Friday to Sunday.  Crafters, vendors, classes, make and takes...it's one big pile of crazy!

Along with the major events at the Mall...every Archiver's store does a crop event called "Crop Around Town" on Friday and Saturday from 6:30 pm to 12:30 am.  During the Crop you get all kinds of prizes and snacks, and a vendor comes to the store for demos and a make and take.

This year mom and I did not go to Scrapfest itself....but we did go to a Crop Around Town on both Friday and Saturday!  Friday we got to meet the team from Basic Grey, and Saturday we met the We R Memory Keepers group.  It was SO MUCH FUN!!  =D  We had an absolute blast....and got LOTS of fun goodies! Besides the make & takes and freebies from Archivers, mom and I both won two prizes on Saturday night!   Our crop was split into two rooms, and there was a small contest of which room could finish the most pages/cards in a set amount of time.  Our room won, so we got an extra goody bag.  THEN, mom won one of the prize drawings, and I won one of the grand prize drawings.  So much swag! =D  Here's a picture of everything I won Friday and Saturday.

I tried to make sure everything showed in the picture.  =D  SO much new stuff to play with...I can't wait!  =D

Next year we're going to try to make it to the Mall for Scrapfest, too.  It should be exciting!!

Thanks so much again to Archiver's for the fabulous time and prizes!!

Thank you for stopping by, and we'll see you soon.

CDAC Progressive Challenge 2 - Part 2

Hey guys!  It's time for the second challenge in the first Progressive Challenge over at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC)!  This challenge's theme is Back to School.  I actually created two cards for this challenge, and here is the second.  (See my previous post if you want to see the first card.)

I used a cute little bookworm from Jens Digi Stamps.  (The image is the bookworm and the blue book he is sitting on.)  The rest of the books and the checklist were from my dp.  I just thought the image fit perfectly on top of the books!  The image was colored using Copics.  The letter background I created using cream colored cardstock and letter stamps in Sahara Versamark ink.  The Back to School sign and notebook pages are embellishments from Jolee's Boutique.

Well, thanks for stopping by to take a look!  I'll be posting my second card next, so stay tuned!  =D

CDAC Progressive Challenge 2

Hey guys!  It's time for the second challenge in the first Progressive Challenge over at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC)!  This challenge's theme is Back to School.  I actually created two cards for this challenge, and here is the first.

I used this adorable little girl from Tortagialla and a sweet little frame scene from Sweet Stamping Treats.  The bookworm and apple are actually part of the dp, and the crayon is an embellishment from Jolee's Boutique.  Both images were colored with Copic markers (except for the girl's glasses, which were colored with a Spica marker).

Well, thanks for stopping by to take a look!  I'll be posting my second card next, so stay tuned!  =D

All the Leaves are Brown...

Happi Monday, everyone!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  I know I did.  It's been busy as heck so I haven't been able to be online much....but I hope that will end soon.  For now...we have a new Happileigh Scrappin' challenge for you!  This week our challenge is Autumn.   Leaves, fall holidays, fall colors, back to school...whatever you want!

I used the adorable Girl with Kite, which can be found here.  I decided to create an 8 x 10 wall art.  It goes in a frame, but the glass was causing issues when photographing.  The girl was colored with Copics.  The papers are from BoBunny.  The leaves are confetti from Michaels Craft Stores.

Well, now that you've seen my project, head on over to the Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the Happi Sisters came up with.  Remember, you do not need to use a Happileigh Scrappin' image to play along, but we would love it if you did!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Whoops!!!

So, I got on the computer tonight all ready to post for the Tiddly Inks challenge that's due in about a day.  I was so excited to have finished!  Work has been crazy busy, and I haven't been able to create anything in the past week or so.  I opened up the challenge page so I could link to it...and realized I had done the wrong challenge!! That's right, I lost a week. Darn it! =(  So here's the card I created for last week's (now closed) Reading Fun challenge! LOL

I used one of my favorite stories: The Princess Bride.  I just LOVE that book, and the movie.  I think this would make a great anniversary card...or maybe that's just me.

Ah well.  I'm of to bed.  Hopefully some sleep will clear my mind.  I'll be trying to create a project for the current challenge by the due time tomorrow...wish me luck!  =D

I Do Love That Spotlight...

**Post 2 for the day...To see the Digistamps 4 Joy post please scroll down**

Guess what!  Today I am extremely honored to be featured on Simply Betty Stamps Spotlight on You Wednesday. Squee!  I am just so excited.  =D  I really love Simply Betty Stamps...they are fun and quirky, just like me!  If you've never seen her stuff, please head over to the store and check them out.  There is something for everyone, and you will *definitely* not be disappointed!

Now, I colored a number of images and was so prepared to create a brand new project for this feature.  Unfortunately....life caught up with me, and I wasn't able to finish in time.  =(  However...that means you get to see some of my favorite past projects, juuust in case you missed them the first go round.  =D

Here's one of my favorites:

I just love this Betty image.  Her adorable net skirt, the cute little skulls and bats on her umbrella..it's so much fun!!

Ok, well thanks so much for stopping by to visit.  If you want to see the rest of my spotlight cards, head on over to the Simpy Betty Stamps blog.  There have been a number of fabulous releases recently, so you'll definitely want to check out the stamps at the store!  Also, there are always fun challenges over at the Simply Betty Stamps Challenge Blog, so you might want to check that out as well.  =D

We'll be seeing you soon!

The Colors of Fall

Hey y'all, happy Wednesday!!  Well, it's time for another Digistamps 4 Joy challenge.  Here in the US Fall is fast approaching.  It's sad to say goodbye to Summer...but I must admit that Fall is my favorite seasons.  It has my favorite weather (a nice, even temperature, little humidity, and little SNOW), my birthday, and my favorite holiday (Halloween).

To get us ready for the season, we want to see some projects showing the colors of Fall!  Now, you don't necessarily need to use a Fall image, just the colors.  Here's a photo for some inspiration:

Isn't that pretty?  =)

I used the adorable Monster...Dude.  When I printed him, I realized he was throwing up the horns.  (I don't know how I missed that the first time!)  When I saw that, I just knew I had to do a rock-music-inspired project.  I decided to create a bookmark for my husband's guitar books.  I used papers from Bo Bunny's Zoology pack, and colored the image with Copics.  The red cardstock was embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder, then shaded with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  The "Rock" sentiment is from Die Cuts With a View's Rock Queen Chipboard Embellishments pack.  I took the first picture using one of my hubby's guitar books, set to one of my favorite rock songs...Iron Man.  =D

Now that you've seen my project, head on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy challenge blog and see what the rest of the team has created.  I hope to see you play along with us this fortnight!

Thanks for stopping by.  =D

Happy Monday!!

And a happy Labor Day to those of you in the States!  You know what that means...summer is just about over, and fall is raring to go.   Cool weather is coming, leaves are changing colors...  In honor of the upcoming season, Happi Sister Chris has picked a color challenge: yellow, brown and orange.

I used Leigh's adorable Jenny Jeans, Sunflower (three times), and one of Leigh's flower borders.  All images are colored with Copics.  The flowers are from Hero Arts and were also colored with Copics.

Well, now that you've seen my card, head on over to the Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the Happi Sisters came up with.  Remember, you do not need to use a Happileigh Scrappin' image to play along, but we'd sure love it if you did!

Thanks for stopping by, and we'll see you soon!

Never Wrong a Witch...

Here's a card I made for the Craft Your Passion sketch challenge this week.

It's sponsored by Delicious Doodles, so I just had to use their images.  I just love the little voodoo girl!  That's right...never make a witch mad, you never know what they can do to you.  =D  The skull frames were something I found online.  Images colored with Copics.  The spider paper is red cardstock and a stamp by Inkadinkadoo.  (The creepy bookshelf image on the top left is also from Inkadinkadoo.)

Thanks for stopping by!!  I'd chat some more, but it's 3:46 am and I'm exhausted.  =D  We'll see you soon!

The Critter Sketch Challenge Blog has a fun sketch this week...

Cute, right?  Well, as soon as I saw it, I thought "cheerleader".  Something about pennants/flags always reminds me of cheerleading.  But, you know me...no cutsie preppy pink cheerleaders for me.  I remembered I had the perfect stamp from Simply Betty Stamps, and this is what I came up with:

Woo hoo!  Go Pirates!!  =D  I had a lot of fun with this.  I even tried to make little pom-poms!  The image was colored with Copics.  For the flags, I printed out the letters (using my Skull and Bones font) on blue cardstock, then punched the flags out using my Marvy Uchida punch.  I lined each flag with black marker, and then again with black Stickles.  The ribbon is from Michael's, the grey paper is from K & Company Elegance stack, and the blue polka dot paper is from We R Memory Keepers Spookville stack.

Well, thanks for stopping by!  I hope you liked it.  We'll see you again soon.
