Dinner's Ready!

I just wanted to share, I was so happy.  Not only did my hubby cook me dinner for the first time in a long time, but then he did the dishes!  What a sweetie.  I feel so pampered!  =D

Mmm... teriyaki beef stir fry.  Delicious!  Thanks, honey!

DTBST #135 - 3 Patterned Paper Christmas

Hey y'all!  It's time for the newest Sassy Studio Design Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge!  Yay!  Not only that, but since it's the last Thursday of the month, it's our monthly Christmas challenge.  Woo hoo!  Who doesn't like to get a head start on their holiday cards?  I know I do! This week we want to see:

A Holiday Card with at Least Three Patterned Papers

I used Sexy Santa (available at the store) to create a fun little flap card.  She was colored with Copics, then accented with Stickles and Glossy Accents (for the eyes).  (DH loved the Stickles, but was weirded out about the eyes.  "Creepy...they look wet!" LOL) The pink and red candy cane and striped papers are from Stampin' Up.  The multicolored striped paper is from DCWV.  Ribbon and number stickers are from my stash.  Sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts.

Ready to play along? Looking for more inspiration? Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT created.  I do hope you'll play along with us this week!  Remember, you don't need to use a SSD image to enter...but if you do, you can enter TWICE!  The details on how to do that are on the challenge blog, so don't forget to check it out.  With all the fabulous new images just released, who wouldn't want as many chances to win as possible?  =D

Thanks for stopping by, and we'll see you soon!

It's a Boy!

Hey y'all!  Last night I posted that DH and I had our first ultrasound, and it's a boy.  (Whee!)  I've had requests for pictures.  Well, we didn't get very many good ones.  He was spine up, mooning the camera, so it was hard to get a picture of his head.  We did get a couple fairly ok ones, though, so here they are!

His profile.  DH said it looked like a light bulb.  LOL

Now, you know I'd have to post the skullie picture.  =D

What's Your Weather?

Hey y'all!  Just posting a quick card I did tonight.  Digistamps 4 Joy is having a one week challenge called What's Your Weather.  Well, I'm just squeaking in at the end.  I might not be on the DT anymore, but I still want to pay along now and then!  =D  Right now, it's hot and sunny here. Even though it can be completely humid, the days are still (mostly) beautiful.  Therefore, I chose the sentiment Heavenly Day by Melody Ross.

I used one of my favorite DS4J images Summer Ice Cream.  Mmm...ice cream.  Now I want a banana split. LOL!  She was colored with Copics, then accented with Stickles and glossy accents.  Ribbons and gems are from my stash, papers are from DCWV.

On another note....hubby and I got some good news today.  We had our first ultrasound, and we will be having a little boy in early December!  We're just stoked.  It really is a heavenly day.  =D

Thanks for stopping by!  We'll see you again soon.

Je Pense a Toi!

(For the Sassy Studio Design blog hop, click here.)

Hey y'all!  Just thought I'd share a quick little card I made today.  I got this adorable freebie at the Saturated Canary challenge blog the other day, and just HAD to play with it as soon as possible. (I just adore Krista's images.)

I colored the image with Copics.  I've never tried to color in black and white before, but I really like how it turned out!  I might just have to try a full image in black and white next.  =D  The papers are from my stash, the flowers are from Michael's Craft Store, and the sentiment is a freebie I got from KLdezign.  (She has fabulous French sentiments and some really fun steampunk images.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's a Small World After All

Hello, my darlings!  Are you all ready for the Olympics?  I know I sure am!  I've got my USA shorts washed and my mini flags ready to wave. =D  Well, as you may be aware, Sassy Studio Designs' current release is all about showing pride in your country.  Now, unfortunately, we can't have images for ALL the countries.  I know Lindsay would love it if she had the time.  However, we do have SIX gorgeous images to show you.  So, welcome to the Sassy Studio Designs July Release Blog Hop!  (You should have arrived here from the Sassy Studio Designs' challenge blog.  If you just happened upon my post, you can go there to start the hop and not miss any stops!)

It is my honor to introduce you to Mexico Honey.

Now, when I think Mexico, I think fun, bright colors, sunshine, dancing...  I know the colors I used aren't Mexico's colors, but I just had to bring in some splashiness and fun!  =D  I hope you like it!  My papers are from DCWV, and the image was colored with Copics, then enhanced with Stickles and Glossy Accents.  The sentiment was printed on my computer, and the gems are from my stash.

Want to know how to win some images?  Well, there are TWO ways.  The first way....complete the blog hop and leave a comment at every stop! Two lucky winners will be picked from among the hop stops to win one image.  Cool, huh? Want to win ALL SIX images?  There is a challenge to enter over at the SSD Challenge Blog. Just create a card showcasing something about your favorite country and link it up!  You have a week to enter the challenge, so I really hope you can play along and win these fabulous images.  Before you get started, though....you should finish the hop!  =D  Your next stop is the very talented Soma.   I've listed the entire hop list in order below, just to make sure you don't miss any stops.  =D  Have a great time hopping!  Oooh, and don't forget!  We'll be having a LIVE CHAT with the DT and other SSD fans at our Party Blog tonight. 7PM Pacific, 10PM Eastern.  (That's 9PM here in the Central Time Zone.)  Hope to see you there!

DTBST #134 - Hit the Beach

Hey y'all!  Happy Thursday!  I'm here to bring you the newest Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge.  This week, our theme is:

Hit the Beach

I used the beautiful Sarong Sassy, available in the store.  Isn't she fun?  Looks like she's ready to hit the waves.  She was colored with Copics, then her sarong was covered with Stickles and Glossy Accents were added to her eyes.  The clouds on the background paper were outlined with a Stardust pen, and the computer printed sentiment was outlined with more Stickles, as was the center line of the surf board.

With all the fabulous new images being released, who wouldn't want as many chances to win as possible?  =D

Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!

Hey y'all, and welcome to Day 3 of the Sassy Studio Designs July Release Previews!  (Whew, say that ten times fast. LOL) If you haven't heard about this month's release, the super talented Lindsay has created a new line of Honeys from around the world; just in time for the Olympics!  Sunday was Great Britain, and Monday was the U. S. of A.  Looking at the title of my post, I bet you can guess what country we're celebrating today.  That's right....Australia! Woot woot!  Meet Australia Honey:

Isn't she adorable?!?  I just love her cute little hat and those fun boots. I have to say, I was stoked when I found out I got to preview Australia Honey.  Not only is she beyond fabulous, but quite a while ago I had bought some Australian-themed digis from Make it Crafty and never got a chance to use them.  Well, I just knew this Aussie Chrissie Tree would be perfect for my little Australia Honey.  Both images were colored with Copics, then Glossy Accents were added to Honey's eyes and Stickles were added to the tinsel on the tree.  (I tried to color the beer cans to look like Fosters cans.  Living in the US and not being a beer drinker, I don't know much about Australian beer.  All I can think of is the Fosters commercials.  "Fosters - Australian for Beer."  LOL)  The papers are from DCWV, the sentiment was printed on my computer and the ribbons and gems are from my stash.

Want to see some more fabulous cards featuring Australia Honey?  Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to see some more fabulous cards by the DT.  If you missed the first two days of previews, you can also check those out while you're there.  Stay tuned for a new image every day, ending with our release blog hop on Saturday!  You definitely won't want to miss the blog hop.  One lucky participant will win ALL 6 NEW IMAGES!  How sweet is that?!?  Plus, two lucky commenters will win one image of their choice.  Also, don't forget Saturday night at 9PM CST we will be having a LIVE CHAT with the DT and our fantastic Sassy fans.  I hope you stop by!!

DTBST # 133

Hello my lovelies!  How is your week going so far?  Mine has been pretty darn fabulous!  Well, I found out I'm anemic, so that's not so great, but....I do NOT have diabetes, so yay for that!  =D

Anyway!  Sorry for that little personal tidbit, I'm just so excited.  I'm a total carbaholic...don't try to take away my bread.  =D  Ok, so I'm here to bring you the newest Sassy Studio Designs Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge.  Woo hoo!  This week we have a sketch for you!  It's another lovely sketch by our own Kathy Curry. (She just has the BEST sketches!)  =D  Excited to see it?  Here it is!

Pretty, huh? This was SO much fun to work with.

I love this image, called Cocktail Sassy and available at the store.  I know she's called Cocktail Sassy, but she reminds me of those old beach movies.  I was feeling very retro, so I decided to go with the black/white/red/grey color scheme and the red with white polka dots.  I don't know why, but red with white polka dots always scream retro to me. =D  The red polka dot and the grey striped paper are from DCWV.  the black and white striped paper is from Echo Park's Apothecary Emporium line.  The border punch is from Recollections, the gems are from my stash and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I did a little doodling around the image just for an extra little oomph.

With all the fabulous new images being released, who wouldn't want as many chances to win as possible?  =D

Napkin Fold Tutorial

Hey, y'all!  Happy Wednesday!  I am just so excited.  I was asked by the the lovely Jenn  to be a guest designer for Just Some Lines and do a tutorial for their Tutorial Wednesdays.  How cool is that?!  Of course I said I'd love to.  =D

Even though it's kind of an involved process, I decided to do a tutorial on the Napkin Fold Card.  Why?  Because it's my favorite fancy fold, and it really is pretty easy.  It looks complicated, but I promise, once you've done it, it's a breeze!

Here's the front of my card, when it's all closed up with the belt on:

and here it is open to see the inside:

I used the fabulous Christmas Bird and Tower of Gifts for my card.  Aren't they just the cutest?!  I really needed to get started on my Christmas cards.  With a little one due in early December, and knowing how far behind I was last year, I know I need to get all my holiday cards done by Thanksgiving at the latest!  (Let's see if I can actually accomplish that goal. LOL)  The papers I used are from Stampin' Up.  I can't recall the name at this precise moment, but it's a set of papers using mostly non-traditional colors that I just LOVE.  (I love using pinks and blues in my Christmas cards.  I feel like a rebel. LOL)  The images were colored with Copics, and then I added some Stickles to simulate snow and just because I love sparkly things.  I also got to use my brand new Martha Stewart all around border punch.  I actually bought the punch for this specific tutorial, and for these types of cards in general.  (I didn't have any good border punches that would go all the way around the page.)

Like the card?  Want to give it a shot?  Head on over to the Just Some Lines blog to see the full tutorial.  (Be prepared, it's a little picture heavy!  I wanted to make sure to illustrate each step as clearly as possible.)  If you decide to try it out, leave me a comment with your link.  I'd love to see your results!  Plus, this is my first tutorial EVER, so I want to make sure I did an ok job explaining it for y'all.  =D

Avoid Losing Internet on July 9

Hey y'all.  I just found out something that's going on with the internet, and I thought I'd let y'all know.  Apparently, some people might lose their ability to connect to the internet in early July.  This is due to a DNSChanger Malware that may be installed on your computer.  Click here to see the article on PCMag.com, and click here to see the post on the Huffington Post. Both articles list some sites that will let you know if your computer or router has been infected, and both tell you what to do if your computer is infected.

I know how much it sucks to lose your internet, especially for bloggers like us. Good luck!

Good morning, and happy Thursday!  It's time for the newest Digi Doodle Shop challenge.  Woot woot!  This week our theme is:

I've used the adorable Boy Soccer Player, available in the Children/Babies category of the People section of the store. Image colored with Copics. DTBST # 132

Good morning and happy Thursday!  It's time for the newest Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge.  Woo hoo!  In honor of the Summer Olympics beginning soon, we want you to

Show Us Your Medal!

What does that mean?  We want you to have metal some where on your project.  Now, when I hear metal, I get super excited.  I love Steampunk, so I just couldn't resist another chance to make a card in my favorite style.

I used the beautiful Steampunk Vivian, available in the store. I colored her with Copics, then highlighted the eyes, gun and knife using glossy accents. For the metal, I used chain, arrows and the metal tag sentiment that says "breathe".  Now, just because the challenge is metal, do not think you need to do steampunk.  You can use any kind of metal...brads, charms, you name it.

With all the fabulous new images being released, who wouldn't want as many chances to win as possible?  =D
