Angel Kisses

Well, happy Halloween to all of my fellow Americans!  To everyone else....Happy Monday!  =D  I hope your weekend was fabulous, and your new week is off to a fantastic start!

I'm here today to bring you my entry into the FIFTH round the Progressive Challenge over at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC)! I can't believe we're already almost to the last round...it's gone by so fast!  (If you didn't participate in the first Progressive Challenge, you should definitely check it out for the newest one starting in mid-November <I think>.  It's a ton of fun!)  The challenge this time is Festive and Fancy, with an additional little challenge of using cool colors.  Unfortunately, I didn't see the thing about cool colors until after my card was made.  Whoops!  However, most of the colors are cool, so I hope it's still ok...

I used this adorable image from Just Some Lines.  I just think he's so cute!!  The blue papers are from Stampin' up, the flower paper is from DCWV's Sweet Stack.  The sentiment I printed out on Word.  The image was colored with copics, and then stickles were added to the wings and halo.  I used a souffle pen to outline a heart on the heart stickers.  The silver elastic ribbon is from Michaels.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day...and for my friends in the Northeastern USA...I hope you're all safe!  I've been thinking about you, and just know that pretty soon we'll be in the same mess over here.  =D

Stop by tomorrow for some fun new sales information, and don't forget my blog hop coming up next Monday.  LOTS of prizes to be won!  =D

Thanks for taking a look!  We'll see you soon...

Blog Hop Fun!

Hey y'all!!  I'm just posting real quick to tell everyone about a fun little blog hop that's coming up in a little more than a week.

A little while ago (thanks to Cely's hop) I reached 100 followers, and I was so super excited!  I'm just honored that so many people actually care what I am writing and creating.  LOL  Then, last Sunday was my birthday.  Before you ask....29.  One more year to the big 3-0!  Surprisingly....I'm not stressing about that.  =D  Lastly, November 7th is my one year Blogaversary.  I just can't believe it's been a year already!!  Sometimes it feels like I've been doing this forever, and sometimes it seems like only yesterday.  I can still remember sitting at Archiver's this time last year, creating my very first cards for the Michelle Perkett, Guylou's Inimitabililty and Midnight Madness challenges.  I like to think I've grown since then, and I have met so many amazing people in this community that continue to inspire me every day...not only with their creativity and talent, but also with their big hearts.

So, to celebrate all of these milestones....I am having a blog hop and challenge!  That's right!  I'm so excited...and also nervous.  LOL  I've got a ton of incredibly talented ladies helping me out, and there are going to be quite a few prizes...so I really hope you'll stop by!!

I hope to see you there!

Good Morning!!!

Hello and happy Thursday!  Only one more day 'til the weekend!  Woot woot!  Is everyone ready for Halloween?  (Well, everyone that celebrates it, anyway. LOL) I know I am.  Plus, my aunt from Cali comes into town tonight, so I'm super excited to spend some time with her over the weekend.

Well, let's get down to this week's Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge, shall we?  This week is an easy one....anything goes!  My favorite.  =D

With winter coming up (too soon...), I decided to make a "home for the holidays" card.  I used the fantastic Christmas Globe, which can be found here.  I merged it with a sentiment in Word.  I colored it with Copics, a silver Uniball pen and souffle pens (for the ornaments on the trees).  I covered the globe with Glossy Accents, but it just didn't look right.  Then I realized that my favorite part of snow globes is all of the glitter!  So, once the Glossy Accents dried, I used a ton of Stickles.  Then, to get that glassy sheen, I did another layer of Glossy Accents.  The papers and flowers are from my stash.

Well now that you've seen my card, head on over to the Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge blog to get some inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Don't forget, for the month of October all Halloween and Scenic images are 25% off!  PLUS, there's the fall special...where any purchase of $5 or more gets you these images FREE!  So, if you're not ready for Halloween, this is a good way to get it done.  =D

Head on over to the Digi Doodle Shop to snap up these fabulous deals while they last!

I hope you'll join us this week with some of your fabulous creations!  Remember, you don't have to use a Digi Doodle Shop stamp, but if you do it will be entered twice.  Also, you can enter as many times as you want...as long as it's with a new card/project each time.

Thanks for stopping by!  We'll see you soon!

Happy Monday!

Wow, it's been a while since I've done a Monday post!  Welcome to the new week!  =D

Well, today I am so excited and honored to tell you that I am a guest designer for the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog!  Woo hoo!  They're such a great challenge blog, and I'm very excited to have the chance to work with them.

So, this week's challenge is to use three different pattern papers in your project.  This was actually a little hard for me...I generally don't mix a bunch of patterned papers.  However, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out!

The owl in tree image I found over at Public Domain Clipart.  Some of my followers might recognize the girl...it's Pipper, one of Simply Betty's Burton Weenies.  She's definitely one of my favorites!  =D  Both images were colored with Copics.  All three patterned papers are from my stash, so I don't exactly remember where they came from.  (Sorry!!)  The sentiment I created on Word, then colored with Copics to match Pipper's outfit.  The bats are from Martha Stewart.  The ribbon is from Michael's craft stores.

I really hope you'll hop over to the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog and play along!

On a side note...I had some more inspiration for this card.  It's the 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Stamps!!  Now, y'all know how much I love Halloween, so there's NO WAY I wouldn't be playing along.  This card is for the First Day of Halloween...

On the first day of Halloween my true love gave to me......an owl in a rotten oak tree!

Yep, I had to include an owl and a creepy tree in my card.

I really hope you liked it!  Thanks ever so much for stopping by.  Come back soon to see what's coming up for the rest of the 12 Days of Halloween....   =D

Purple and Green

Happy Thursday!!  You know what that means...time for another Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge!  This week we want to see projects using the colors purple and green. I just love this color combo.  It reminds me of spring and sunny days.

I used the adorable Louis & Daisies image for my card, which can be found here.  I just love the Louis images...he's such a cute and happy little dragon!  I colored the image with colored pencils and Gamsol.  I love the shading that happens with this medium.  The papers are from We R Memory Keepers. The flowers I created with a punch, then outlined the middle with green Stickles.  The ribbon is from Hero Arts.

Now that you've seen my project, head on over to the Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge blog to get some inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Don't forget, for the month of October all Halloween and Scenic images are 25% off!  PLUS, there's the fall special...where any purchase of $5 or more gets you these images FREE!

Seein' Double!

Hello, all my lovlies!  Welcome to another happy Wednesday!  It's time for the next Digistamps 4 Joy challenge. Woot woot!  This challenge's theme is Embellish It: Seein' Double.  What does that mean?  Well we want to see two IDENTICAL embellishments on your project.  Two brads, two buttons...go crazy!

I used the image Hangin' with Spidey.  Isn't she adorable?!?  (Some of you CDAC Progressive challengers might recognize her as the bonus image from the last round.)  I colored her with Copics, then fussy-cut her out.  Let me tell you...those spidey legs were some work.  =D  The papers are from my stash...sorry I can't really remember where they're from!  The embellishments are from some blog candy I was lucky enough to win.

Well, now that you've seen my card, head on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with.  There are some *very* cool projects to see!  Remember, you do not have to use a Digistamps 4 Joy image to play along, but if you do you get a chance to win the DT's choice award!  How fun is that?  =D  I really hope to see you playing along!

Thanks for stopping by, and we'll be seeing you soon.  (There are some very fun things coming up in the next few weeks....stay tuned!)

Have a Magical Birthday!!

This is my favorite month.  Not only does it contain my favorite holiday (Halloween) but it's also my birthday month.  It's also the birthday month of one of my very best friends.  To celebrate every year we go out for a nice sushi dinner...and I am SO looking forward to it!  =D

I decided to make a birthday card for her this year.  (Shocking, right? LOL)  As well as being her birthday card, it is also my entry for this round of the Progressive Challenge over at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC)!  The theme is Halloween/Mystical, and you now how much I love that!  =D

I used this fabulous image by Simply Betty Stamps, one of my favorite stamp companies.  I was so thrilled when I saw that it was one of the free images this challenge!  I think it's just so adorable.  I can think of worse ways to use witchy powers than to play with a kitten.  =D The papers are from We R Memory Keepers.  The image is colored with Copics, and the flowers are from JoAnn's Fabrics.

Thanks for stopping by!  We'll see you soon!

Lavender and Lace

Good morning, and happy Thursday!!  Only one more day until the weekend, thank goodness.  I do love my weekends, don't you?

Another great thing about Thursdays....it's Digi Doodle Shop's challenge time!!  Woo hoo!  This week we have  a fun one for you....Lavender and Lace.  Many of my friends say purple is their favorite color, so I love to make cards in all shades of purple...I know there's always someone who will love it!  =D

For this week I used the fabulous Spring Gathering image, which can be found here.  I just love that dress, and all of the pretty flowers.  I colored the image with Copics.  The papers are from DCWV's Once Upon a Time Mat Stack, Prima's Nursery Tales Stack, and DCWV's Glam Girls stack.  The butterflies are one of my brand new EK punches.  It's one of the ones that has three different settings, so it's perfect for layering.  (Each butterfly is three layers, and then the top was coated with Stickles.)  The lace and flowers are from JoAnn Fabrics.

I had so much fun with this theme...I really hope that you will have a little fun and join in!  =D  Head on over to the Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge blog to get some inspiration from the rest of the DT.  (These ladies are so talented; they just blow me away!)

Don't forget, for the month of October all Halloween and Scenic images are 25% off!  PLUS, there's the fall special...where any purchase of $5 or more gets you these images FREE!

Distressed!

Good morning, lovelies!  I hope you are all having a fabulous week!  =D  As you may have seen last week, I am so honored and excited to have been accepted onto the Design Team for Digi Doodle Shop!!  Their images are just so darn cute.  Well, it's time for my first official challenge as part of the DT.  Woot, woot!

This week's challenge is Distressing. I know how many people out there love this style, and I know how talented all my lovely followers are, so y'all should have absolutely NO problem with this one!

I used this lovely Antique Stove Set, which can be bought and downloaded here.  The cool thing about this set is that it comes with a stove, bread, salt & pepper shakers, coffee urn and coffee cup that you can merge together as the occasion calls for!  I had a coworker who was recently accepted into culinary school for pastry chefs, so I knew this stamp would be just perfect.  The image was colored with Copics and Spica markers, cut out, then distressed and inked using Distress Ink in Pumice Stone.  The papers are from various Tim Holtz paper packs.  The knowledge charm is also from Tim Holtz.  I tried to get the home made flower look by punching circles in 2 different sizes and then cutting slits to make the petals.  The inside of the card says "A recipe has no soul.  You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe. ~Thomas Keller".  Perfect, huh?  =D  My coworker LOVED the card, so that's all that matters.

Alright, now that you've had a chance to look at my card, why don't you head on over to the Digi Doodle Shop Challenges to see what the rest of the DT cooked up!  (Hee!)  Trust me...all of the projects are just GORGEOUS.  You do NOT want to miss seeing them!

After that, I really hope to see y'all join in the challenge!  Don't forget, for the month of October all Halloween and Scenic images are 25% off!  PLUS, there's the fall special...where any purchase of $5 or more gets you these images FREE!

Think Pink!

Hi!  Welcome to the first Digistamps 4 Joy challenge for October of 2011.  For those of you that aren't aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  So, for our challenge, we want you to Think Pink and create a project with lots of pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness!

As many of you know, I was born in October.  I've adopted the cure for breast cancer as my pet charity.  I am always ready to support the cause, and even do a few fundraisers for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  In fact, there have been some very exciting developments coming out of Penn State recently...you can go here to read the details.  We're one step closer to discovering a cure, and that is just fabulous.  I was just thrilled when I found out the theme of this challenge.  Who doesn't know someone who has fought, is fighting or has been affected by this disease?  Sometimes even a little thing like a handmade card can bring so much joy.

For my card I used Dress on a Hanger, which is absolutely perfect for paper piecing.  My papers are from DCWV's Glam Gal stack and Doodlebug Design's All Occasion designer paper value pack.  The dies for the flowers are from Stampin' Up.  The tag is part of a freebie set from Femke, which can be found here. The charm is a left over from breast cancer bracelets I made as a fundraiser years ago.

Why don't you head over to the Digistamps 4 Joy challenge blog to check out what the rest of the team created? You don't want to miss it!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I really hope to see you join in our challenge!  =D  Hugs!

I am also entering this into The Crazy Challenge: Think Pink

Arrr! Happy Birthday!

Hey y'all! Thought I would share a fun little card I made for Zoe's birthday at Make it Crafty.  (If you have MiC images and make a birthday card by Oct 12, you get an adorable image for free!  Details here on the Make it Colourful blog.)  I decided to finally play with the pirate image I had downloaded ages ago.

Images are from Make it Crafty, colored with Copics and Spicas.  Papers are from Stampin' Up.  Treasure map I found online.  Ribbon is from Michael's.  Sentiment is by ME.  =D

I thought it was pretty funny.  Luckily I had already planned on making this, because I was invited to a birthday party for a friend the same day.  I was able to double dip with this card, which is always fun.  =D

Thanks for stopping by!  We'll see you soon!
