One for the Boys

Hey y'all!  I'm here to bring you the newest Digistamps 4 Joy challenge.  This week we want to see one for the boys!  That's right, we want you to do a card for a boy/man.  I find these sooo hard.  It's almost impossible for me to finish a card without gems or Stickles, and I don't really have a lot of boy embellishments.  Usually I end up with a very CAS card. LOL

I used the adorable Wolfie.  Isn't he just the cutest?!  He was colored with Copics, of course. My paper is Peek-a-Boo in the New Arrival - Boy line by Pebbles, Inc.  The ribbon is from my stash.  The buttons are chipboard stickers by Little Yellow Bicycle. The stars are metal embellies by Mark Richards. The sentiment is my own.  The howling wolf on the inside was a recent freebie from Create with TLC.

Ok, now you've seen my card, head on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy challenge blog to see what the rest of the ladies came up with.  We also have a fabulous creation by a very talented Guest Designer.  Want to know who it is?  Head on over!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Aren't they just the cutest little things?!?  You can find them in the New Products section and also in the Children/Babies section at Digi Doodle Shop.  Let me tell you, I've already got a card planned out for that adorable little sweeper.  =D

Don't forget, you've still got until tomorrow at 2pm CST to enter Digi Doodle Shop's Blue and Brown challenge.  The winner gets $10 to the shop, so why not play along?

See y'all soon!

Achoo!

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's time for a new Digi Doodle Shop challenge.  Woot woot!  This week we have a color challenge for you.  We want to see blue and brown, one of my favorite color combinations.

I used an adorable image called The Sneeze, another one of the fabulous, limited-time-only 99-cent Digi Deals. The image was colored with colored pencils and Gamsol.  The papers and buttons are from my stash.  The polka dot buttons were created with the Epiphany Crafts button maker.

Now you've seen my card, hop on over to the Digi Doodle Shop challenge blog to check out the incredible projects by the rest of the DT.

Remember, you don't have to use a Digi Doodle Shop stamp, but if you do it will be entered twice.  Also, you can enter as many times as you want...as long as it's with a new card/project each time.   Don't have any Digi Doodle Shop images?  Check out the 99 cent category!  These images will be going away forever March 1st, so get them while you can!  Or just grab some images at the store and start racking up those award points!

Just a quick note - the Digi Doodle Shop Design Team has been split in half.  Our challenges will still be weekly, but I will only be posting for the challenges every other week.  I will still be commenting, though, so I hope you continue playing along every week!

Birthday #2

Well, as y'all may have seen in my previous post, the 16th was my mom's birthday.  Not only was it my mom's birthday, it was also my hubby's birthday, our friend's birthday and our niece's birthday.  Plus, next Monday is my MIL's birthday, and the 28th is another niece and our nephew's birthdays.  Whoo!  Looks like y'all will be seeing quite a few birthday cards from me the next week or so. LOL

Here's the second one I created: the one for my hubby.  His favorite color is purple, which makes me giggle, so I always try to use that color in his birthday cards.

I used this fabulous image I just got from Kenny K called Bodacious Bev.  I merged her with a keg of beer I found on public domain.  The image was colored with Copics.  The background paper is from my new kaisercraft paper.  The gems, ribbon and cross came from my stash.  The sentiment I printed out on word.  It has always made me laugh, and my hubby is a beer connoisseur, so it was perfect.

Because of the colors, it's hard to see the bow on the front of the card. I tried to lighten up the picture a bit more and did a closeup so you could see the bow better.  It's still a bit hard to see...but it's the best I could do.  Sorry!  =D

Well, thanks for stopping by!

Here's the challenges I am entering:
Kenny K Krafty Girlz: Bow-Dacious
Card Crafter's Circle: Happy Birthday
Charisma Cardz: Happy Birthday
Crafty Cardmakers: No Floral Embellishments
Cute Card Thursday: You're Having a Laugh
Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT: Bows

Birthday #1

Hey y'all!  Here's my first birthday card post.

Mom, if you're reading this....STOP RIGHT NOW!
lol  I wanted to give this to you, but you wouldn't answer the phone.  Hopefully I can get it to you before you log in.  =D

For everyone else, I created this card for my mom's birthday.  It's a little late, but I wanted to make sure to put some work into it.  She's the best, and she deserves the best.

My papers are all from DCWV.  The image on the front is from Tiddly Inks, and the image on the inside is from Happileigh Scrappin'.   The sentiment I found on Split Coast Stampers, and it cracks me up. "The secret of an enjoyable birthday can be found in achieving balance.....forkful of cake, spoonful of ice cream, forkful of cake, spoonful of ice cream." Tee hee!

The sketch I used is from I (heart) 2 Stamp, the January Sketch for You to Try.

Charisma Cardz: Happy Birthday
Cute Card Thursday: You're Having a Laugh
Card Crafter's Circle: Happy Birthday

Friends are the Flowers of Life - Tiddly Inks Blog Hop

Hey y'all!  Tiddly Inks is doing something fun and new (or at least to me)...a blog hop where ANYONE can be part of the hop!  You can go here to see the details.

As soon as I heard about the challenge, I knew I wanted to participate.  Also, I already had an image printed that I felt really went with the Friendship/Flower theme.  So here it is!

Sorry the picture's a little dark.  It looked alright at 2 am when I was resizing it! LOL  I used the fabulous Flutterby, which is one of my favorite Tiddly Inks images and can be found here in the Tiddly Inks Basement.  I've always loved this image, but for some reason had never quite found the perfect card. I merged Flutterby with Daisy Days from Happileigh Scrappin'.  The image was colored with Copics, except for the flower petals, which were colored with Spica markers.  The papers are from DCWV, Stampin' Up, and the purple butterfly paper is from stash; unfortunately I've forgotten where I got it.  The little butterfly embellishments are from a punch a very nice woman loaned to me at my very first crop.  The larger butterfly embellishments are chipboard butterflies I won in an Archiver's gift bag.  They have been painted with Ranger Dobber ink and a permanent marker to make the body.  There is ribbon from Michael's under the chipboard butterflies. You can't see it in the picture, but because I bent up the wings of the butterflies for dimension you can see it in real life...I promise!  =D  Stickles have been added to the chipboard butterflies and the ones in the image, and the gems are from my stash.  I don't remember where the quote came from; I heard it once a long time ago and it has always stuck with me and I thought it was perfect for the image. It says "Friends are angels that give you wings when you forget how to fly".

As part of the creation of this card I used this week's fabulous sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!  If you are part of the Tiddly Ink Blog hop - enjoy the rest of the hop and good luck!

Rock Queen

Good morning, y'all!  We have a new Digi Doodle Shop challenge for you today.  This week, we want to see...............embossing!  That can be heat or dry embossing, so go crazy!

Now, anyone who knows me knows that I love to sing. Love, love, LOVE it.  I'm always singing.  Two of my very, very good friends run a karaoke company, and I love to go to their shows.  I try to go to at least one show a week, sometimes two.  I decided to make a card for the female half of the duo.

I used the awesome Karaoke Singer, one of the fabulous, limited-time-only 99-cent Digi Deals. She was colored with Copics. The papers and chipboard embellishments are from DCWV's Rockstar collection.  The music and heart/guitar embossing are folders by Sizzix that I used with my Texture Boutique.  The flower centers and pink/silver brad are from my stash.

Now you've seen my card, hop on over to the Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge blog to check out the incredible projects by the rest of the DT.

Monochrome!

Hey y'all!  It's time for a new Digistamps 4 Joy challenge....and we want to see monochrome projects using the inspiration photo below!

Aren't those pretty colors?  They're some of my favorites.  =D  Speaking of favorites, I was able to use one of my favorite Digistamps 4 Joy images for this challenge:

Lil Dragon! Isn't he just the cutest!?!?  There's also a version with more detailed scales here.  My card came out looking a little more teal than aqua and turquoise, but I think that's ok.  It was as close as I could get!  =D  The papers are from DCWV, and the ribbon is from my stash.   I also got to use one of my favorite die cuts for the frame.  I like how much room it gives for an image.  A lot of the Nestabilities don't give a lot of room, or at least the ones I own don't.  LOL I typed the quote on Word.  I can't remember where I first heard the quote.  I've seen it on t-shirts and bumper stickers, and it just stuck with me.

Ok, now you've seen my project, head on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy challenge blog to see what the rest of the ladies came up with!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Challenges:
Papertake Weekly: Die Cute Special
Paper Sudaes: Saturated Color

New Beginnings

Good morning, y'all!  How has your week been going?  I wish I had a little more vacation time...I just was not ready to come back to work on Tuesday.  Plus, having Mondays off really throws off my time all week.  I feel like I'm a day behind.  For instance, I felt like today was Wednesday instead of Thursday....which means I'm late on letting you know about the new Digi Doodle Shop challenge!!  I sincerely apologize!

This week, our challenge is New Beginnings.  There are all kinds of new beginnings...new jobs, new houses, weddings, births, retirements...the possibilities are endless!

Now, for the past couple of years in my family it seems that someone is always pregnant, so I decided to do a new baby card.  I'm sure that someone in the family will get pregnant again soon. (Hopefully it's my turn!  LOL)

I used the adorable Sleeping Infant, found in the People category under Children/Babies. I just love the face; isn't she adorable?!?  I colored her with colored pencils and Gamsol. The papers are from Prima Marketing's Nursery Tales collection.  The roses are from my stash; it's hard to see in the picture, but in real life they match the color of the roses on the baby's hat and shirt.  The sentiment I found on Splitcoast Stampers.

Now you've seen my card, hop on over to the Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge blog to check out the amazing creations by the rest of the team.
