Sassy Studio Designs Sponsors Sunday Sketch & Stamp

Hey, y'all!  Happy Sunday!  I just love lazy Sundays, where I get to lay in bed, read, craft...pretty much do whatever I want!  Today I'm going to be crafting.  If you're planning on doing some crafting, too...why don't you check out the newest challenge Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring?  This week we are sponsoring Sunday Sketch & Stamp with this fabulous sketch:

Isn't it fabulous?  It leaves a LOT of room for interpretation and adding embellishments.  Just remember, at least one thing on the card has to be a stamp.

I used the always lovely Wicked Honey. You can find her in the Sassy Studio Designs store.  I just love this little witchy poo! She's a blast to color, and in her full image she is holding a broom.  The sentiment is a stamp from Close to My Heart...one of my favorite Halloween sets.  Like the sparkly spiders?  They make me giggle.  =D

Want to play along?  Head on over to the Sunday Sketch & Stamp to check out their post with all the details and inspiration from their DT.  Want some more inspiration?  Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to see what the other Sponsorship Sassy Sisters have come up with.  You will not be disappointed!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and we'll see you soon!

As soon as Cely asked me to be a part of her Blogaversary Blog Hop, I just knew I had to use a Hello Kitty image.  (If you didn't know or couldn't tell, Miss Cely is a huge fan of HK.) I found this adorable image at My-Family-Fun.com.  Isn't she a cutie?

Pocket Full of Posies

Good morning, y'all!  Happy Thursday!  We have a new Digi Doodle Shop challenge for you today.  This week we want to see...Pink and Brown!

I used the fabulous Pocket Full of Posies, which can be found in the Flowers, Fruits & Trees section of the store.  I colored the image with Copics, then added some accents with Stickles.  The paper and ribbon are from my stash.  (The ribbon is actually a dark brown, even though it looks black in the picture).  The flowers are from my first order at Wild Orchid.  I'm so excited...I love these roses and I was pumped to get the package in the mail last week!

Well, now you've seen my card, hop on over to the Digi Doodle Shop challenge blog to check out the amazing projects by the rest of the DT.

Remember, you don't have to use a Digi Doodle Shop stamp, but if you do your entry will count twice.  Also, you can enter as many times as you want...as long as it's with a new card/project each time.

New Road

Some of you might have already seen this card in my Digistamps 4 Joy blog hop post. However, I did want to enter a few challenges, so you get to see it AGAIN!  Aren't you happy?  =D  LOL

This is an easel card I created for a graduation from a mother to her son.  It could also be used as a new job, or moving, or a hundred other reasons.  I decided to make it an easel card because you never know...the son might want to display a card from his loving mom.  =D

Here's a close up of the inside/bottom of the card.

The sentiment is from my brain, printed out on Word.  The image on the front is a new Digistamps 4 Joy image called 4x4 Jeep.  The image on the inside/bottom is from Digi Doodle Shop and is called Boy & Vintage First Car.  The images were colored with Copics and Glaze pens.  The paper is from Stampin' Up.  The blue paper with the wheels and tire tracks I believe was a freebie from Create with TLC.  The yellow buttons were from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you have a couple of minutes, you should check out the Digistamps 4 Joy blog hop.  There's only 11 stops, and each one has a prize being given away.  The hop starts here.

Challenges:
The Pink Elephant: TPE 145 Use Yellow (I hope the shirt and buttons were enough yellow!)
Milk Coffee Challenge: Bold and Bright Colors
Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog: It's a Man Thing
Totally Gorjuss: Boys Toys
Sparkles Monthly Challenges: Men Only

New Beginnings...

Welcome to Digistamps 4 Joy's New Beginnings Blog Hop!  You have arrived at Starla's blog in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA!

(Of course, there's no snow right now...today was a beautiful day in the mid-60's.  Lovin' it!)

Digistamps 4 Joy is running a blog hop from April 25th to Thursday, May 10th at 6AM CAT to introduce our new blog! During the hop, you will journey from our old blog, through all of the talented DT blogs, and end at the new blog.  Each and every stop on the hop is offering a fabulous prize, so make sure not to miss any!  The winners will be posted on the individual blogs on Friday, May 11.  A full list of winners will be posted on the new Digistamps 4 Joy blog on Sunday, May 13.

If you reached my blog from the lovely Margy, you are right on track.  If not, you might want to start at the current Digistamps 4 Joy blog to make sure you don't miss any stops!  The hop order should be listed on each blog so you don't get lost.  =D

Here's the order of the hop:
Starla (YOU ARE HERE)

Well, here's my creation for our New Beginnings theme.  I decided that with June fast approaching, many people are starting to think about graduations...high school, college, etc.  I thought I would do a card from a mom to her son.  It could also be for a new job, a move...all kinds of things.

and here's a close up of the base.

I decided to do an easel card. You never know, the son might want to display a card from his loving mother.  =D On the front I used one of the fabulous new images available in the NEW Digistamps 4 Joy shop.  It's called 4x4 Jeep and can be found here.  The image on the inside/base of the card is from Digi Doodle Shop, and it's called Boy & Vintage First Car.  I decided to go with this image because (A) it fit my theme/sentiment and (B)....the prize on my blog is $10 at Digi Doodle Shop!

Click on the badge above to check out their store.  There are all kinds of images for every person's taste.

Ok, before you finish hopping, I should probably explain the rules for entering to win the prize.  (All blogs on the hop will have the same rules for their prizes.)  I definitely don't want any of you to miss out on the chance to win!

1. You MUST be a follower of each blog on the hop, except for the first stop.  (That is the current Digistamps 4 Joy blog and will no longer be active after the hop.)
2. You MUST leave a comment on each blog in the hop.  To make it easy on you, I'm not going to require any special kind of comment...but just make sure to say something!  =D
3.. You MUST be a member of the new Digstamps 4 Joy group on CDAC.   (If you're not a member of CDAC, please feel free to join.  It's free, and it's a fabulous group of digistampers and artists.  There are all kinds of challenges and tutorials...definitely a great community!  It's super easy to join, just click here and click on the "sign up" link.  Just don't forget to join the Digistamps 4 Joy group when you're done!)

Ok, that's it!  I hope you're having a blast, and good luck!  Your next stop is the fabulous Ursula.  See you soon!

Sassy Studio Designs Sponsors {PIN}spirational Challenges and Tuesday Morning Sketches

Good morning, y'all, and happy Tuesday!  Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring not one, but TWO new challenges this week!  How exciting!

The first challenge is Tuesday Morning Sketches, who are challenging you to use the fabulous sketch below.
Pretty neat, huh?  I really like this sketch.

The second challenge is a fairly new challenge blog.  It's {PIN}spirational Challenges.  Every week this blog finds a different picture on Pinterest to use as a photo inspiration challenge.  I think that's a really fun idea!  Here's this week's Pinterest photo:

All kinds of inspiration there!  I just love these colors.  They remind me of Spring...warm sun, pink and green flowers, bright happy colors...

I decided to make one card to fulfill both sponsors...and here we are!

I used the gorgeous Masquerade 1.You can find her in the Sassy Studio Designs store.  This image always reminds me of Carnival, which reminds me of France, so I decided to go with a French sentiment.  It literally means Good party/celebration to you, but in many places it's how they say "happy birthday to you".

Want to play along?  Head on over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches and the {PIN}spirational Challenge blog to check out their post with all the details and inspiration from their DT.  Want some more inspiration?  Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to see what the other Sponsorship Sassy Sisters have come up with.  You will not be disappointed!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and we'll see you soon!

**Post #2 for the day.  Please scroll down for my Digi Doodle Shop sponsor post."

Good morning everyone!  Happy beginning of the week!  I'm here to let you know that Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the newest challenge over at Incy Wincy Designs!  They had a gorgeous sketch for us to play with:

Isn't it fun?  I decided to stick to the sketch and not add any embellies....going for a cleaner look.  =D

I used the fabulous Sally Honey. You can find her in the Sassy Studio Designs store.  I know Sally isn't usually green...but I was going with more of a zombie rag doll look.  You know how I love my zombies. =D The sentiment on the inside is from Tiddly Inks.

Want to play along?  Head on over to the Incy Wincy Designs to check out their post with all the details and inspiration from their DT.  Want some more inspiration?  Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to see what the other Sponsorship Sassy Sisters have come up with.  You will not be disappointed!

Digi Doodle Shop Sponsors Cupcake Craft Challenges

Good morning and happy Monday!  I hope today starts a fantastic week for you.  I'm here today to let you know that Digi Doodle Shop is sponsoring the newest challenge over at the Cupcake Craft Challenges blog!  The challenge is.....Material Girl!  No, they don't want to see projects about Madonna....although, that could be kind of cool.  No, what they want to see are projects using some kind of fabric or something made of fabric.  (Yes, canvas counts.)

I used the lovely Sewing Machine - Vintage, which is found in the Antiques section of the Digi Doodle Shop store.  I'm especially enamored of sewing images right now since I just started sewing again.  Plus, this machine is just so fabulous!  The fabric part of my card are two canvas triangles that have been painted to match the quilt in the image.  The sentiment I printed out on word.  The paper is from Stampin' Up.  The image, sentiment and canvas triangles have been hand stitched using silver embroidery floss.

Well, now that you've seen my project, head on over to the Cupcake Craft Challenges blog to see the fabulous work by their Design Team.  Then I sincerely hope you will play along!  Why not combine it with the current Digi Doodle Shop challenge?

Thanks for stopping by, and we'll see you soon!

Sassy Studio Designs Release Blog Hop

Hello, and happy Saturday!  I'm so excited because it's time for the Sassy Studio Designs release blog hop!  Woot woot!  This is just thrilling.  You should have arrived here from Soma's blog.  Wasn't her card fabulous?  She's just one of the incredibly talented Sassy Sisters I'm proud to have as my teamie. If you didn't arrive from Soma's, head back to the beginning at the Sassy Studio Designs blog to make sure you don't miss out on the fabulous prizes.  Before I show you my card, I should explain how this hop is happening, right?

WELL, first of all, the theme of this hop is all about our most favorite and least favorite tools.  Each DT member will be telling you about their favorites...and not so favorites.  My favorite tool is my Big Shot.  I LOVE it!!  I use it on pretty much every card, whether for embossing or die cutting.  It's just so useful!  As for my least favorite tool...my quilling tool.  Don't get me wrong, I love quilling, but it's such a pain in the butt I rarely do it!

Ok!  Now during this hop there are THREE prizes that can be won.  Two lucky commenters from somewhere in the DT blogs will win one new image each.  How cool is that?  You'll have to leave love for all the Sassy Sisters in the hop, though, 'cause there's no way to know which DT blog will have the prize.  (I don't even know!!) Plus, the grand prize is to win THREE new images!  Whoo hoo!  To be eligible for that prize, you HAVE to comment on the Sassy Studio Designs blog, and you MUST say in your comment what your favorite and least favorite tools are.

Now, before I get to the blog hop list, I get to share my project. Meet Kutie Kim Roller Girl...

Isn't she a doll?  As soon as I saw her this sentiment popped into my head.  It reminds me of skate nights at the roller rink...when I was in middle school my friends and I would go skating every Friday night.  Once a month there was an all-nighter, where we'd be locked into the rink for skating from 6pm to 6am.  Ahh, memories!

Now's the time where I would say it's time to be on your way...but I'm the last stop in the hop!  Congratulations, you made it!  Thanks so much for hopping with us.  =D  I've posted the complete blog hop list below just so you can make sure you hit every stop.  Don't forget to stop by the Party Blog tonight at 10pm Eastern Time to chat with the DT and other Sassy Studio fans!  See you there!

Help!!

**This is my second post of the day.  For my Sassy Studio Designs release preview, please scroll down**

Ok, y'all, I need your help!  This might sound weird, but I've gotten an odd request for a card.  Has anyone seen an image/digi stamp of two beers dressed as a bride and groom?  Or a bride and groom drinking beers?  A coworker  wants an anniversary card for a former coworker, and she's got her heart set on including beer in it. LOL  If anyone has seen an image like this, or anything in this vein, I would really appreciate your help!  I've tried googling it with no luck.

Thanks!

Wednesday on a Friday....

Happy Friday to you!  I have a special treat to share.  Sassy Studio Designs is having a new release of fan favorite images tomorrow.  We're having a blog hop and chat tomorrow night...you definitely won't want to miss it!  Well, today I get to preview one of the images that is being released.  Meet Wednesday Sara Adams!  (Sara is the name of the fan who picked this image, so she gets to be the namesake!)

Isn't she FABULOUS?!?  I used some Copics, new dies, new flowers, new metal sentiment sticker, and, of course, Stickles!  (The black dots in the die are actually black Stickles.) Now, those of you that know me know how much I love the cute gothic look, so I really lucked out being able to share this image.  You should see what some of the other Sassy Sisters came up with!  It's crazy fun to see how many different ways one image can be portrayed.  Why don't you pop on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to check them out?  Don't forget to stop by the blog tomorrow for the hop, then stick around and chat with the DT tomorow evening!  They're a fun, crazy bunch, so it promises to be a blast.  =D

Don't forget...it's Fabulous Freebie Friday!  Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs group on Paper Craft Planet to pick up today's free image.  She's a cutie!  She's only available for 24 hours, so hurry!
Here's Jeanie Sassy, colored in Paint.net...

Lazy Sunday

Happy Sunday!  I wish I were able to have a lazy weekend, but there's just SO much to do!  On Friday two very good friends of mine got married.  I am so happy for them, and it was so much fun!!  Today we're going to go see them open the presents, but I wanted to post the card I made for them.

I decided to keep it fairly simple.  I've had this couple from Tiddly Inks for quite a while.  In their recent anniversary celebrations, Tiddly Inks was giving away some freebie frames.  When I saw this trellis image, I knew it would be perfect!

That's it for now.  We'll see you again soon!

Sassy Studio Designs Sponsors Craft Your Days Away

Happy weekend!  I just LOVE my weekends...they're so open to possibility!  There's so much I can do!  I usually don't do anything...but I could if I wanted to. LOL

Starting THIS weekend, Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the newest challenge over at Craft Your Days Away!  What's the challenge, you may ask?  Metal.  They want to see metal on your projects.  Well, as soon as I hear metal, I think Steampunk!

I used the stunning Steampunk Victoria.  Isn't she sassy? You can find her in the Sassy Studio Designs store.  I just love the Steampunk style, so I had a lot of fun with this card.  I used some chain from my old jewelry-making stash.  The background for Victoria is part of a cereal box, stamped with a stamp from my stash and edged with Distress Inks.  The gears, arrows and sentiment charm are from Tim Holtz.  The photo corner gears are from Jolee's Boutique.  The flowers, from Recollections, were originally white but I sprayed them with chocolate, tattered leather and bronze Glimmer Mists.

Want to play along?  Head on over to the Craft Your Days Away challenge to check out their post with all the details and inspiration from their DT.  Want some more inspiration?  Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to see what the other Sponsorship Sassy Sisters have come up with.  You will not be disappointed!

Wedding Bells are Ringing

Hello, and happy Thursday!  It's especially happy for me because I don't have to work tomorrow.  Yay!  My friends are getting married tomorrow and I'm in the wedding, so it should be a very fun day.  (Yes, my friends are getting married on Friday the 13th.  That's just the kind of people I hang out with. LOL)

This week's Digi Doodle Shop challenge is Paper Lace, and with weddings on the brain I decided to do a wedding card.

I used the lovely Just Married, available in the Anniversaries & Weddings section of the store.  See that pretty purple trellis in the middle of the card?  That's my paper lace.  It's a brand new punch, and I just love it!  My papers are from DCWV's Once Upon a Time paper line, and the flowers are from Recollections (Michael's Craft Stores).  They were originally white, but I misted them with bronze Glimmer Mist to give them an aged look. The image was, of course, colored with Copics.  The front sentiment is a Making Memories stamp.  The inside stamp is from TPC Studio.

Now, originally this was going to be the wedding card we give our friends.  However, it ended up going in a different direction, so I'm thinking I might try to make another one.  This will have to go to the next people who get married.  =D

Well, now you've seen my card, hop on over to the Digi Doodle Shop challenge blog to check out the amazing projects by the rest of the DT.   We have some new faces you might not have met yet, and trust me...you don't want to miss these super talented ladies!

Remember, you don't have to use a Digi Doodle Shop stamp, but if you do your entry will count twice.  Also, you can enter as many times as you want...as long as it's with a new card/project each time.

Don't forget our Newsletter Contest!  Click the picture below to head to the store and check out the details.

Sassy Studio Designs Sponsors Chocolate, Coffee & Cards

Good morning and happy Friday!!  Thank goodness it's Friday.  These next couple of weeks are going to be super busy for me; two of my very good friends are getting married one week from today and Wy and I are in the wedding.  So much left to do!  I always leave time for my cards, though!

Today I'm here to tell you that Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the newest challenge over at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards!  Don't you just love the name of that blog?  Brings to mind decadent relaxation for me.  This fortnight, the folks over at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards want to see Pearls and Lace.

I used the gorgeous Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend. Isn't she a fabulous?! You can find her in the Sassy Studio Designs store.  I definitely wanted to use stylish Marilyn for this challenge! Now, I'm a bit of a Francophile, and nothing says decadent relaxation for me like sitting in front of a little French cafe, sipping espresso and nibbling on a croissant, watching all those stylish French people strolling by.  (Well, to be honest, I'd probably be sipping wine, but maybe that's just me. LOL)  I thought this sentiment from Create with TLC fit the image perfectly!  =D

Stampscapes

Good evening, friends!  A few months ago I took a Stampscapes class.  I've been wanting to take a class with these stamps for a very long time.  I was so excited to learn how to use them!  I'm still working on my technique, and I only have about 5 stamps, but I'm slowly building my selection.  I thought I'd show you my two very first Stampscapes cards.

Both of these were created for coworkers' birthdays.  The first I created a month or so ago, and the second I just finished.  I really wanted to go monochromatic with the second, especially since it was for a guy's 50th birthday.  I think the brown tones give it a vintage feel.

That's it for now!  Stop by tomorrow for more Sassy Studio Designs info!

Challenges (for second card)
Cards for Men: The Great Outdoors
Deep Ocean Challenge Blog: Masking/Use More than One Stamp (I used 4, 2 of them multiple times)

Paper Pretties Wednesday: Monochromatic
Scrapbook Sisters: Dad's Birthday/Men
CES Challenges: No Girls Allowed
Sugar Creek Hollow: Birthday (If this isn't vintage/primative enough, please feel free to remove me)  =D

This is my first official post.  Squee!  This week, Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge!  The folks over at C.R.A.F.T. want to see your Spring/Easter Cards.

I used the stunning Masquerade 1. Isn't she a beauty?! You can find her in the Sassy Studio Designs store.  The sentiment on the front is kind of hard to read in the picture.  It says "The spirit of Easter is all about Hope, Love and Joyful Living."  Well, I think masquerade balls are pretty darn joyful.  =D

Let's Celebrate!

This time of year, it seems like there's so much to celebrate.  It's the beginning of wedding season, birthdays, new babies, here in the US winter is over and spring is coming....lots of reasons to be happy.  This goes right in line with Digistamps 4 Joy's new challenge: Party/Celebration Time.  We just have one condition...there MUST be a lot of BLING!  So get out your Stickles, your glitter, your rhinestones, and let's PARTY!

I used the adorable Sonia Ballet to create a birthday card.  I just think this image is so cute, and I know a couple little girls who would LOVE this card.  =D  Now, if you visit my cards often you know that I LOVE my Stickles, so the bling was definitely no problem for me.  I used gold Stickles for the crown and the want, and then some gems along the side for a little extra OOMPH!

Remember, you don't need to use a Digistamps 4 Joy image to enter.  However, if you do, you get not one, not two, but THREE entries into the random draw!  Plus, you can enter three projects per challenge (as long as they are all new projects), so if you used a Digistamps 4 Joy image for all three....that would be NINE entries!!  Who can beat odds like that?  PLUS all the projects using Digistamps 4 Joy get entered into a separate contest: the DT's Choice award!  The DT will vote for their favorite and the winner will get a $6 gift certificate to the store.

Jump on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy challenge blog for inspiration from the rest of the DT and then get your craftin' on!  =D

Don't go too far, though!  We've got some exciting new things to celebrate soon.  I'll be telling you more about it in the next couple of weeks....

Thanks for stopping by, and hopefully we'll be seeing you soon!

ATC Action

Hey y'all!  Just a quick post to bring you some ATCs I created today.

A little while ago I won an adorable Just Some Lines image during one of their blog hops.  She was so cute, I had to use her right away!  Here she is in all her glory:

I just love her and her cute little flower egg!  The image was colored with Copics, then a Spica and a Souffle pen were used for the flowers and dots on the egg.  The sentiment was created with rub on letters.

Challenges:
Wicked Wednesday ATCs: Easter or Bunnies/Chicks
The Pink Elephant: TPE 142 CAS

Now, for my next two ATCs I used a fabulous Dilly Beans image.

I just love this image.  It reminds me of the Day of the Dead skulls.  Or a really cool tattoo.  =D  I couldn't decide what medium to use for coloring, Spica or Glaze pens, so I decided to do one of each.  The Spica turned out a lot darker, and the Glaze Pens turned out really bright and glossy.  (The pictures are kind of dark...if you could see the second one in real life, it would really jump out at you!)

Challenges:
Dilly Beans: Skulls and Skellies

Ok, well that's it for now!  We'll see you later!
