Happy Wednesday!

Good morning, my lovelies! I'm here to bring you a brand new challenge from Digistamps 4 Joy.  I know you are all excited!  =D

If you weren't already aware, International Children's Day is celebrated on different days around the world. Youth Day is recognized by the United Nations and is coming up on August 12th.    To celebrate, we want to see a project with a child image.  Fun, right?  Easy, too!
Here's my project front:

and side:

I decided to create a piece of wall art on some canvas.  Let me tell you...I was terrified.  I've never worked on canvas before.  First off, of course, my main  inspiration was the ADORABLE Digistamps 4 Joy image I got to use: Freckle-Faced Fairy Sitting.  Isn't she just a DOLL?  Love her.  I colored her with Copics and cut her out.  Then I started on my canvas.  The first thing I did was spritz the entire canvas with Glimmer Mist.  I pretty much saturated it.  It was taking forever to dry....so I used a paper towel to wipe off the excess.  I was very excited how it turned out.  Then I used two stencils and a paint dabber to create the butterfly and the flower.  The butterfly stencil had gotten a little bent and it was a bit hard to define the shape...so I outlined it with a black uniball pen.  I wanted the flower to match, so I outlined part of that in the pen, too.  The blue flourish corners are transparencies from K & Co.  (I was so lucky to have them...and in the right color, too!) The small butterfly is an outline sticker from Sakuro, and was colored in with Souffle pens.  The butterfly trails are gems from Michael's and Stickles.  The sentiment I printed out on my computer and colored using Distress Ink in Spun Sugar.  Then I edged it with the paint dabber.  The last thing I did was add Stickles to the fairy's wings.

I know a sweet little girl that I'm hoping will love this.  I'll be mailing it to her soon...just in time to celebrate Children's Day!  =D

Now, why don't you head on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT created.  Let me tell you, there are some AMAZING things there.  You will DEFINITELY be inspired! Remember, you can use any company's image to enter the challenge, but if you use a Digistamps 4 Joy image you have a chance to win the DT's choice award!

Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you soon!

Star this is such an incredible project...it already has me looking for canvas's to be able to do a project for my two nieces that are pregnant (you have definitely inspired me lol). That image is just so adorable and I love the way you have her sitting on the flower. And what a great idea using the spritz and paint daubers! You really took the "Anything but a card" idea and ran with it!
