Stinkin' Cute

The adorable Cely over at Hawaii Paper Party has gifted me with another award.  Isn't it cute!?

Now, I'm going to be lazy today.   You know how much I heart all of you, so I'm going to leave this one open to all of my followers, and to all of the blogs I follow.  If I follow you, of course I think your blog is stinkin' cute!!  If you follow me, you *obviously* have good taste  ;)  , so I'm sure YOUR blog is cute, too!  lol!

Awww!

That silly Cely over at Hawaii Paper Party... That girl got bombarded with awards!  LOL  It's true though, she deserves it.  Since she's such a sweetie...she passed them all on to me!  Awww....mwah!

I've decided to combine them all (thanks for the idea, Cely) so here are (7) more things about me:

1. I LOVE to make cards.  I know that's kind of a "DUH!", but I've tried so many different ways of crafting.  Painting, design, jewelry...they were fun for a while, but jut weren't my thing.  Card making, though...I'm in love!  I can't get enough of it!  I'd rather make cards than READ (and if you know me, that's saying a LOT).  I am so grateful to my mom's friend Micky for introducing us to this, and to my mom for getting me to take my first class at our LSS.  I have a feeling I'm going to be doing this for the rest of my life. =D

2. I really, REALLY don't like snow.  I don't like cold, I am terrified to drive in it.  I can't stand it, and would be completely happy if it never snowed again.  Seeing as how I live in Minnesota....I won't be holding my breath.  =D

3. I love tatoos.  I currently have 2, but plan on adding at least a few more throughout the years.  I love seeing people who have tattoos all over.  I think they say so much about a person, and most tatoos really are a work of art!  The body is a temple...and I'm just decorating it!  =D  (Or should I say...adding embellishments? lol)

4. I miss the confidence of childhood.  When you're a little tot, you don't care what anyone thinks.  You do what you want.  You want a purple horse?  You color your horse purple.  You want to wear a tutu and rain boots...go ahead and do it.  I think we all need a little bit of that mentality back.  (Although...don't expect me in a tutu and galoshes any time soon.)

5. I love music.  I love singing it (as noted previously) and listening to it.  All of my friends know...when we go to one of our local bars and I put money in the jukebox...don't talk to me.  I came there to play music, I paid for it, and I'm going to listen to it.  I'll talk to you when it's done, but for now I'm busy.  =D

6. Almost done....!  I don't like people touching me.  Of course my friends and my family, it's ok, but definitely not strangers.  Don't pat my shoulder, don't tug on my hair.  If we're in a really crowded area, I don't even want my friends to touch me because I'm already freaked out enough.

7. On top of not liking being touched, I'm a bit claustrophobic. I don't like small spaces or really crowded spaces....hence the afore mentioned freaking out in a crowd.   Somehow, with all of that....I still love going to concerts and to the fair.  Go figure.  LOL

Ok, that's enough about me.  Here are (5) wonderful women I've decided should receive these awards. Incredibly Sweet

I got to work this morning and found a lovely surpirse.  The adorable Cely over at Hawaiian Paper Party (don't you just LOVE that name?!?) gifted me with this fabulous blog award!

She's such a doll, and so much fun!  If you haven't met her yet, head on over to her blog and say hi!

So, here are the rules to this award:

So, (7) facts about myself.  Here we go!

1. I love cats, but I'm highly allergic to them.  I tell myself that I don't like cats so I'm not tempted to play with them...but they're just so darn cute!

2. I LOVE to sing.  I'm in a band and I do karaoke at least once a week...more if I can get it.

3. I'm incredibly shy.  You wouldn't be able to tell if you saw me in one of my "safe" places (at my bar singing karaoke, in blogworld, at my LSS) but put me somewhere new and I'm a wallflower.  I'm really working on getting over that, though!

4. I have the best mother in the world.  If you talk to me at all, you know how much I love my mom and how much we do together.  I'm a total mommy's girl.  She's my best friend, and one of the only people I can actually stand for long periods of time. LOL

5. I love to read.  I read about a book a day.  However, with all the crafting and singing, it's been more like every two days.

6. I'm an incredibly picky eater, especially when I'm trying to lose weight.  I try not to be...but there are just some rules that I always seem to follow.  I'm really sensitive to the texture of food (lobster and shrimp are too dense, canned peaches are too slimy).  Also, I always eat one thing at a time, and usually I eat clockwise on my plate.  I'm not sure why...I've just been doing it that way for as long as I can remember.

7. I want kids more than anything.  Hubby and I have been trying to get pregnant, and I'm really hoping it will happen soon.  I would love to get a job where I could be a stay at home mom, but for right now, I would just settle for being any kind of mom.  =D

What a good way to start the morning...

If you know me, you know that I am most definitely not a morning person.  Don't even talk to me for the first 1/2 hour after I wake up....and don't expect me to talk for at least 2 hours. LOL  However, this morning when I got to work I received something that made me smile...an award!  =) 

That definitely made me happy.  In fact...I actually spoke, even though I've only been up for 1 1/2 hours... =)

So the conditions of this award are that I need to tell everyone 8 things about myself...then I need to name 8 stylish bloggers.  Unfortunately, I'm so new at this that I don't really know very many bloggers, but I'll give it a shot!

Thing about myself:
1. I try too hard to make everyone happy.  I end up making myself miserable.  I know that it's not possible, but I just want everyone to have a good time. Can't we all just get along?
2. I love to sing.  I do karaoke 2-3 times a week.  I sing in the car, in the shower, walking around my house.  I sing in my head.  (Which means I always have some sort of song stuck in my head...)
3. I hate Minnesota, but I can't seem to leave.  Actually, I hate snow (I'm terrified of driving in the winter) and Minnesota just has so darn much of it.  However, 99% of my family and friends live in Minnesota (or other states just as snowy) and no one else will agree to move south with me.  Sigh.
4. I'm co-dependant.  I can get along without almost anyone...except DH and my mother.  Of course I love my husband...but my mom and I are extremely close.  We do a lot together...and have pretty much the same hobbies, tastes, and personality.  So really, it's like I'm co-dependant on an older version of me...which could be considered independance, since it's myself.......right??
5. I love to color.  I never grew out of it.  I'd even find cool black and white artwork online to print and color.  It soothes me, and I love putting different color combinations together.  I guess that's why I've fallen in love with scrapbooking and card making so quickly...it's a great excuse to do something I love to do anyway.
6. I love to read.  I read about a book a day.  That's a work day...on a Saturday or Sunday with nothing going on I can read 2 or 3 books.  I'll read just about anything...even if it doesn't sound interesting to me I'll at least give it a shot.  My favorite books, I will read over and over.  I've probably read Watchers, Tick Tock and Lightening by Dean Koontz 50 or more times each.  Same goes with Three Fates by Nora Roberts.
7. I'm super picky about food (as anyone who knows me will tell you).  I don't eat pork, except for an occasional ham and swiss sandwich from Arby's.  I do not like my food to touch.  Don't even THINK about putting corn in my mashed potatoes and gravy. I eat one thing on my plate at a time, and I eat counter-clockwise around my plate.  I don't know why, I just do.  I don't like slimy food...canned peaches, clams, etc.  There's a lot more...but it would probably take 4 days to write it all down.  Most of this stuff is not a deal breaker...I won't refuse to eat potatos where the corn is mixed in.  If I'm a guest, I eat whatever they give me and thank them.  I just prefer certain food certain ways.
8. The majority of the time I don't like people touching me.  Especially strangers.  If I'm in a super crowded room, I don't even like people I know touching me...I'm already freaking out about everyone else.  I don't know why this is...but it is.
