Winter is Here!

Just in case you weren't aware.  =D  At least it is in the northern hemisphere, and it's coming with a vengeance!  So, to celebrate, Digi Doodle Shop wants to see some Winter cards for this week's challenge.   Have you gotten a start on your holiday cards yet?   Maybe this is a good time to start!  =D

The first thing I always think of when winter comes is caroling.  I've only done it a couple of times, but it was so much fun!!  Unfortunately I don't currently live in the kind of neighborhood that would be good for that....but maybe some day!  For now, I'll just have to stick to making cards with carolers on it.  =D  I used A Christmas Carol, which can be found here.  Aren't they just adorable?  They reminded me of something from a vintage ad, so I decided to do a distressed card.  Papers are from Tim Hotlz and Stampin' Up. Sentiment is from Doodle Pantry.  Image was colored with Copics, and papers were edged with Distress Ink in Pumice Stone.  Ribbon and snowflakes are from my stash.

Well, now that you've seen my card, jump on over to the Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge blog to check out the amazing creations by the rest of the team.  You do not want to miss anything by these talented ladies!

Remember, you don't have to use a Digi Doodle Shop stamp, but if you do it will be entered twice.  Also, you can enter as many times as you want...as long as it's with a new card/project each time.  Plus, all animal stamps are 25% off for the month of November!  PLUS, if you spend $7, you'll get one of these fabulous images:

and a chance to support Pet Pardons!

I hope to see you join in our challenge this week!  Thanks for stopping by, and we'll catch ya later.  =D

I am entering this into the current Crafts and Me challenge: Let the Music Move You

Absolutely stunning Star!!! Love all the distressing and the image is divine! The snowflakes are awesome!! I did caroling once as a kid and when the guy behind the door said maybe we should go home and practice more, I realized maybe it wasn't my thing ;) Hope you're stayin' warm!

Great card, Star- I'm not sure I'm celebrating the early Winter we're getting here in New England, though! LOL We had a foot of snow over the weekend - Halloween was CANCELED and postponed in many places. Gonna be a long Winter! :)

It's lovely how the center paper is lighter than the others and makes the image to pop-up! Gorgeous card!

Oh my lord Star, this card is incredible! It is totally vintage...love all that wonderful dp you used...and Doodle Pantry's sentiment is perfect for it. We went caroling out at my mom and dad's place one time...it was so much fun. It started with my mom, my dd and I. By the time we got to the end of the street we had about 10-12 carolers along with us. They live in an age restricted area of their mobile home park and the people just loved it!
